The Megohmmeter Model is a compact, self-contained, hand-cranked True Megohmmeter designed for a broad range of plant and field service applications, such as acceptance testing and preventive maintenance of wiring, cables, switchgear, and motors. This practical and dependable instrument features easy hand-cranked operation, providing a steady, DC voltage output across the entire range for consistently reliable readings.

The Model 6503 offers three test voltages for insulation resistance testing: 250V, 500V, and 1000V. These test voltages are generated in full across the entire measurement range. The compact, self-contained package includes a folded crank and a large, direct-reading scale, making it suitable for a variety of tasks, including continuity checks, domestic and industrial wiring inspections, and insulation tests.

The insulation resistance test range is as follows: 1 to 11 Mohm at 250V, 11 to 500 Mohm at 500V, and 10 to 110 Mohm at 1000V, with a short circuit current of 5mA (max) and an accuracy of 2.5 percent of scale length.
